The Accidental Crafter: I’m Rebecca, owner and sometimes crafter of The Crafter’s Studio. I’ve always loved crafting, and am always on the lookout for something new to make! Most of the time, my best ideas happen accidentally. That’s exactly how The Crafter’s Studio was born. I was trying to take a workshop at a crafting place in the city but the class I wanted wasn’t offered at the right time or on the date I needed. So, I looked around a little closer to home and, alas, could find nothing offering the sort of crafts I was interested in. For Pete’s sake! I’m just a girl that wants to do a little more than decoupage a box or paint a ceramic figure! Was that too much to ask? Apparently, because I couldn’t find a single place offering both traditional and alternative crafts. Well, we can’t have that! Santa Cruz needed a place for all those creative, crafty people just wanting a space to spread out and inspire them. Hopefully, that’s what you’ll feel when you come into the studio. Now I divide my time between my family and the studio and I craft whenever there’s space in a workshop (and even when there’s not!)
