Randy Chelsey has been teaching people to spin yarn for almost thirty years and still takes great pleasure in the moment her students make their first length of yarn. Randy has traveled to many third world countries to spin with local women in villages. She's been teaching natural dyeing for almost as long as she's been spinning. The intense reds, blues and yellows culled from indigo, cochineal, and marigolds continue to take her breath away.

Randy has studied handspinning and natural dyeing with a variety of experts as well as at Parsons School of Design in New York City (where she also lectured), and Penland in North Carolina. She was the spinning and dyeing teacher in residence at the "Spinning as Spiritual Practice" retreats at the Jakoji Monastery. Her articles have been published in "Spin Off" magazine and she is currently completing a book on art, craft and spirituality.

Nancy Howless is a self-taught mosaic artist, initially inspired to her chosen work by the mosaics she saw during her travels in Spain, Australia, and the American Southwest.  She expresses her playful vision using her handmade tiles and broken plates to cover everything from shoes to large installation sculptures of furniture and whimsical animals.  Nancy's work has been displayed in a number of galleries from San Francisco to Pacific Grove since 1994, and also at the San Jose Museum of Art.  Nancy has participated in Open Studios and is a member of SAMA, the Society of American Mosaic Artists. Her art work is included in the publication, Adventures in Mosaics, and her work is included in the International Portfolio of contemporary Mosaic Art.

Evelyn Markasky spent many of her college years in photo booths, creating images to use for her BFA in sculpture. Her art has included sculpture, jewelry, conceptual art, and comedy, not necessarily in that order. In addition to having her own graphic and fine arts business, Evelyn directed and performed in a comedy group once a week for a year. She's participated and exhibited in many local art shows, group exhibits, and fairs, including Santa Cruz Open Studios, Hearts for the Arts, and the Pajaro Valley Arts Council. Most recently, she has studied metalsmithing and enameling with Bay Area artists, Debra Lozier and Amy Bailey.
